Aircraft Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Shoreline
A chopper flying above a popular coastal shoreline suddenly started spinning out of control, ultimately dropping height and smashing into a cluster of palm groves as onlookers looked on.
Videos uploaded on the internet capture the chopper commencing to spiral above Huntington Beach then descending towards the border of the shore, where it ends up lodged between palm trees and a set of stairs adjacent to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Details
The Huntington Beach fire department said five persons were rushed to the hospital including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the crash on Saturday.
Three persons on the pavement were injured. Information on their wounds were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
