Based on latest figures, the count of people aged 100 and above in the UK has doubled from 8,300 in 2004 to 16,600 in 2024.
From 2004 and 2024, the number of male centenarians has tripled from 910 to 3,100. Over the identical period, the number of female individuals reaching 100 almost doubled from 7,400 to 13,600.
We are keen to receive stories from those aged 100 or over, their loved ones or companions, about what it has been like to bear witness to the past century’s seismic events and changes.
