Unveiling a Unusual Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Piece of Feces with the Goal to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and enthusiasts have discovered plenty of entertaining indie games. But, one stands out for its offbeat concept. Titled Unko Technica, this retro-inspired platformer lets you play a protagonist that is truly a turd trying to make its way to a toilet. In case you're wondering, "Unko" means "poop."

How you interact is simple: press a single jump button. In one hundred fifty levels, encounter mini-bosses and visit a market to buy outfits for your poop character.

Time your actions carefully, since one wrong move requires starting over. Bounce off air pockets to hurl the poop higher, cross disappearing ledges, and activate triggers to reveal hidden paths. Collect coins for buying tougher game content where things intensifies.

Graphically, the experience shows off eye-catching stages and an amazing soundtrack. The retro art with morphing abstract forms may remind players of beloved games like Earthbound.

Even though tough to recall similar titles where you are a coiled turd, gaming frequently featured fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players create explosives from character droppings. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use dung as fertilizer. Unsurprisingly, such content is present extensively in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its humorous concept, Unko Technica has already garnered impressive awards, such as taking top honors at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. This trial version is accessible at present on Steam, with the complete version set to debut on Steam this November.
